There is nothing before. Nothing you need to know. This is who I am, and you'll get no apology, nor "poor me, I can't get a job." I adjusted to the change pretty easily. It was like the "real" that had been covering my eyes had dropped away and I saw the real for the first time. And it was freedom.
All I want - and I will go to any lengths to achieve it, is to ensure that werewolves are no longer treated as vermin in this society. We have as much right to be acknowledged as Vampires or Trolls who are given gainful employment in your world when they don't have two brain cells to rub together.
The children? None of your business. And our future. Now get out.
